Our mission
Why we do what we do.
Alepu did not begin with a product. It began with a piece of land, and seven years of learning what it takes to grow something properly.

Seven years before there was anything to sell.
We are farmers first. For more than seven years we have worked our own land organically and regeneratively — cover crops, rotation, animals back on the ground, and a lot of seasons spent getting it wrong before getting it right.
That is where the knowledge came from. Not from a supplier catalogue and not from a lab brief, but from growing the plants ourselves and watching what the soil did in return.

Nature always finds a way.

The first thing we made came out of a plum kernel.
Pressed from the kernels of plums grown on our own farm — the part most orchards throw away. It became a face oil, and it set the rule everything since has had to pass: would we use it at home, and can we tell you exactly where it came from?
The range has stayed short on purpose. One place, one harvest, one batch. When a season is poor there is less of it that year, and we say so rather than filling the gap.
How we work
Three promises we can actually keep.
We grow first
What will grow on our own land, we grow ourselves. What will not, we travel for — and we film the trip.
One place, one harvest
Small batches and named origins. Nothing added to stretch a season further than it actually went.
We say what we do not know
When we cannot name a grower yet, we say so instead of filling the gap with a story.

Then we went looking further.
Growing our own taught us what a well-grown plant looks like, which is the only reason we trust ourselves to judge someone else's. So we started travelling for the plants that will not grow here — and we filmed all of it, including the parts that did not work out.
Be first to know about new oils.
We send a note when an expedition turns into something you can buy. Nothing else, and not often.
